Day 23

Today you will give even to the best article you’ve written recently. The more exposure your articles get, the more potential you have  for your article to go viral and also brining more traffic to your site.

If you haven’t finished yesterday’s task, go and complete it before this one.

Today you will be leveraging / and a bit of forum marketing. Here’s why you should market some of your content on

Over the last few years Facebook has grown extremely fast. According to statistics from Facebook there are over 500 million active users. People also spend over 700 billion minutes per month on Facebook.

That’s A LOT of traffic and a great opportunity for you to drive free traffic to your site.

When it comes to social media it’s important you do it correctly. This is probably the biggest area I see people screw things up.

Make sure you read through the training properly to ensure you do it correctly.

When on Facebook, remember it’s social. The majority of people are there to socialize with their friends.

With Facebook it’s important to add a lot of value. Whenever you post a link, make sure you add a bit of relevant content.

Spamming is bad – never do it. Don’t just say “Check this out www.yourlink.com”

You could say something like, “Hey, I noticed you were talking about ___, I wrote an article ____(title) it’s about ____ (small teaser to entice people to have a look) hope this helps :-)

Did you notice the smiley face?

go a long way in social media – use them :-)

Alright, so let’s get started with today’s task:

Facebook

1. Post a comment on each of the Facebook groups/fanpages that you joined. You can either use the same groups that you found earlier, or search for some new ones. You can refer to training here.

Make sure your comment includes a link to your best article.

Forum Marketing

1. Write and submit two forum posts for each of the forums that you have joined.

Make sure you add value to help add credibility to you and your website. If needed, you can refer to the Forum Marketing Training Manual.

Day 22

Congratulations for making it this far, I am impressed!

If you haven’t completed yesterday’s task, please do it now before you begin this one.

Yesterday was quite a big day so great work for getting it done. This task will be easier, in fact it’s pretty much a day off – it will only take you 15 minutes maximum. You deserve it.

Today you will be using your  to “Like” your favorite piece of content that you’ve recently created.

Remember to only “Like” it once – you want your account to look natural as though you’re using StumbleUpon like a regular user would.

That is why it’s beneficial to “Like” content that isn’t yours now and then. Obviously you don’t need to “Like” your direct competition.

There are so many different sites out there but after testing, StumbleUpon is the one worth doing.

Many old traffic courses mention social bookmarking as their core strategy but times have changed.

When it comes to internet marketing you need to keep up, things change fast and it’s always beneficial to be ahead of the curve.

The majority of social bookmarking is actually a complete waste of time these days.

The introduction of the no-follow links means people using social bookmarking to gain quality backlinks is useless.

Google doesn’t take note of no-follow links, so it’s not helping you with your Search Engine Optimization (SEO) rankings at all.

Focus on StumbleUpon, you can generate traffic that converts and is simple to do.

Feel free to recap on the Social Bookmarking Training Manual for a more in depth look on Social Bookmarking.

Social Bookmarking

1. Find the best content you’ve recently created and choose one to use.

2. “Like” your very best content by visiting it and clicking the “I Like It” button on your StumbleUpon toolbar.

If you don’t have the toolbar installed click here to download it.

You may also wish to refer to the Social Bookmarking Training Manual
TIP: Only “Like” your best content once, and don’t do it to all of your content – It looks spammy and won’t do you any favors.

It is recommended to occasionally “Like” other content that isn’t yours – this will help it look more natural.

/

1. Put the link on your Facebook status AND/OR Twitter status.

Remember to include a short description with it so you don’t look like a spammer.

Day 16

Today we will give even to the article you recently social bookmarked. The your articles get, the more potential you have for getting traffic to your site.

Today we will be leveraging a very powerful  platform. I’m sure you’ve heard of it…

!

That being said, there are ways to leverage Facebook and drive traffic to your site.

With Facebook it’s important to add a lot of value.

You’ll notice that during these 28 days I don’t talk a lot about Facebook.

After networking with social media ‘gurus’ and doing my own tests – I’m not a huge fan.

To be honest there are ways to social networking sites like and facebook to generate traffic.

The problem is, it’s not sustainable and it can ruin your credibility.

Spamming is bad – never do it.

You need to focus on building sustainable traffic sources that will work long term.

I know people who have based their whole business around spamming techniques and their businesses disappear overnight – it’s just a matter of when.

Social media is pretty hyped up – especially in the internet marketing niche.

If you already have a following then Facebook is definitely worth doing, because your following can help spread the word.

Facebook has a lot of traffic and is worthwhile tapping into if done correctly.

Here’s how:

Facebook

1. Read through the training “How To Leverage Facebook Groups/fanpages To Drive Targetted Traffic

2. Search for 3 / related to your niche – where you think your target market is.

3. Join each of the groups/fanpages and strategically post a comment that includes a link to the article that you bookmarked on Day 14.

Always make sure you add value in your post, do not just post the link as it will look like spam.

Day 3

Welcome to day 3, do not begin today’s task unless you have completed yesterdays task.

If you’ve completed it, congratulations you’re now ready to move forward.

Now you’ve completed all the preparation work needed to do well in affiliate marketing. SO many people completely skip the preparation step and wonder why they fail online.

By using the principles of Bruce Lee and following this course you will be well on your way to becoming an affiliate master.

Bruce Lee had to master the fundamentals before moving on to different techniques and fighting styles. It’s the same with affiliate marketing.

You’ll be learning the fundamentals over the next 28 days.

Now that you have done your market research, chosen an affiliate program and built your own website you’re ready to start driving traffic to your site.

Skype is a popular application used by millions of people to keep in contact with one another. It can be used for both personal and business purposes and allows you to communicate via chat or phone calls.

Within Skype, you are able to add a personalized status message that is shown beside your display name. If you use Skype, you should write a short message that includes a link to your site.

When people see the link, they will click on it if they are interested. You may be surprised by how many people actually click on your link out of curiosity.

Remember to include a short introductory sentence for your link. If you just place your link by itself, people will not be inclined to click it.

Add your link to Skype

1. Sign in to your Skype account.

2. Click once on the box provided at the top of the window to add your message.

3. Write a short message that includes your link, then simply hit the Enter key (on your keyboard) to accept the changes.

People will now be able to see your link beside your Skype display name.

There are many different types of sites, one of the most popular is Facebook. Let’s go through some simple things you can do to use Facebook to your advantage.

Adding a website to your Facebook profile:

If you have a facebook account, it is a good idea to add your new website to your profile. This way when people are looking at your profile they will see your link under the “website” heading.

1. Go to www.facebook.com and login

2. Click the “Profile” tab on the right hand side of the screen

3. On the left hand side click on “Edit My Profile”

4. Click the “Info” tab if not already there. Scroll down and click on “Contact Information” (a box will appear with an area to add your details)

5. Under “Website” section enter in your website address. Make sure you use “http://www.”

6. Click “Save Changes” and then the “Finished Editing” button when you are done.

Your website will now be shown in the “Contact Information” section when people view the “Info” tab of your profile.

Updating your Facebook status

A status update is a short message that all your friends will be able to see in their live feed. So now let’s update your status and include a link to your site.

What to write:

It depends on what you will be linking to. Also, remember Facebook is more a social place, so keep it that way. You don’t want to come across as spammy, you will turn people off. For example if you were promoting your site or direct to your affiliate link, you could say something like…

“I really like ___ about this J www.yourlink.com
“Been using this for x days, wish I knew about this years ago”

DON’T say something like:

“Click this link now to make $3650 in 5 days!” or “This is awesome! Click now, it could be the best decision you ever make!”

These kinds of statements are spammy – people will delete you and you will lose credibility.

Always try to add value and make it come across in a friendly way.

How to update your Facebook status:

1. Click on your “Home” tab

2. You will see a box that says “What’s on your mind?” Click inside this box and type your status update

3. Press Enter on your keyboard to update your status with your new message.

Twitter is another popular social networking tool. Just as with Facebook, you are able to post status updates for all to see.

If you have a Twitter account, it is worthwhile posting a status update that includes a link to your link.

Again, Twitter is more of a social place, so you don’t want to post anything spammy or you will turn people off. Therefore, the same rules as Facebook apply when posting updates.

How to update your Twitter

  1. Go to www.twitter.com and login to your account
  2. Enter your text in the status box at the top of the screen then press the Tweet button.

Signatures

Another strategy you can use to generate traffic is to add a link at the bottom of your email signature. This way every time you send an email, people will see your website link.

The way that you add an email signature will depend on the email client that you use. For most email programs, you will normally find the option to add a signature when you click on “Settings” or “Options”.

As a demonstration, I’m going to show you how to change your signature using Gmail.

Updating your signature using Gmail:

1. Go to http://www.gmail.com and login.

2. Once you have signed, you will see the this icon on the top right  Click it.

3. In the “General” tab, you will see a “Signature” section roughly midway down the page. Add your signature in the box provided.

4. When you are done, scroll down to the bottom of the page and click “Save Changes”.

You now have a signature containing your link that will be added to the end of every email that you send.

Send An Email To Your List

Nearly everyone has some sort of email list. If you don’t have a list in an Autoresponder that’s fine, keep reading.

If you do, great! All you need to do is go to the affiliate area of your product and look for what is called a “swipe email”. Copy their marketing email and you can send it to your list. It’s good practice to modify the email to make it your own but not essential.

If you don’t have a list, think about who you could send the email to…

I’m sure you have a bunch of contacts you could email if you sit down and think about it. Be sure to make it personal in some way, for example give them a quick update on what you’ve been up to lately then tie it into the affiliate product/your new website.

TIP: A really cool trick to leverage your time is to use BCC. This will make it look like you sent the email personally to each person one at a time. It will also make sure others cannot see everyone’s email addresses.

Here’s how:

1.   Compose email

2.   Click “Add BCC”

3.   In the To: field enter in your email address

4.   Enter in the email addresses you want to send this email to, with a comma separating each address

5.   Enter in the subject line

6.   Enter in your email

7.   Click send

So go and send email right now – it’s one of the fastest ways to generate traffic because you’re leveraging your existing network.

That’s all for today, have fun! I’ll see you tomorrow :-)
